Have you ever found yourself asking the question “What does a lawyer actually do?” If you have, you’re not alone. The job of a lawyer can be a mystery to somebody who isn’t in the field of law, but videos like these break down the day to day of a lawyer.

The average day of a lawyer can be spent doing a number of different things.

Client meetings, long phone calls, reading documentation, and writing letters are all responsibilities that any lawyer has to handle on any given day. Reading and translating cases in order to submit them to other parties is one of the most frequent duties of a lawyer. The vast majority of a lawyer’s day is spent reading and writing so if you are someone who is interested in pursuing a career as a lawyer, that is something to consider.

A lawyer also spends a lot of their time going into an actual courthouse, but most times, the average day of a lawyer is not accurately portrayed in popular media. Lawyers don’t usually spend their time calling judges in the middle of the night or coming up with sassy responses to unlikely predicaments like you may see in a film or TV show.

The life of a lawyer isn’t quite as glamorous or thrilling as it may seem based on media perception, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be enjoyable or fulfilling.
