Arborists are professionals who care for trees. They can help maintain healthy trees, heal or remove sick trees, and fertilize the ground for new trees. This video explains exactly what an arborist is, the equipment they use, and what they do.
Arborists help perform tree maintenance. They will trim trees, inspect them for disease and rotting, get rid of broken branches, and removal, too. There are a lot of benefits that trees contribute to us that makes being an arborist worthwhile. They help provide clean air, wildlife habitats, and shade. However, if they become sick then they need to be treated or removed to prevent damage to people and property.
There are a few ways to become an arborist. There are college programs, as well as advanced degrees. However, you don’t need to go to college to become an arborist. You can also get on the job experience and take tests to become certified. There are multiple pathways – anyone who’s physically capable and focused can do it.
While working, an arborist will wear protective equipment. A helmet, safety glasses, gloves, and boots are worn at all times. A climbing harnass is used to prevent falls that may kill an arborist. For more information and a climbing demonstration, check out the video above.
